David Moffatt, Project Hope Charity Ride - 2008

Recently, China endured mass devastation from an earthquake that rocked the country, affecting the well-being of hundreds of thousands of people. Ongoing support and engagement is essential to help rebuild the damaged areas – including engagement by business and civic leaders, not just government, as important as that is.

One such response is from a group of Australians including David Moffatt, Telstra’s Group Managing Director of Consumer Marketing and Channels, who will join Olympic legend Mike McKay, and other Melbourne business and professional leaders, on a charity bike ride from Shanghai to Beijing. The goal of the ride is to build primary schools and train teachers in Hebei and earthquake affected Sichuan Province, through Australian Volunteers International (AVI) and Project Hope.

To follow the progress of the group and to read more about the ride, team, AVI, Project Hope and how you can donate, visit: www.davidmoffatt.com.au.
