John Coggan and his son Phillip Coggan from Queensland launch their Guinness World Record attempt to plant the largest paddock of wheat

Some might think watching tractors drive around a paddock is as exciting as watching the grass grow – but that’s exactly what the Coggan family is hoping will happen after they attempt to break the world wheat sowing record in southern Queensland today – and you can watch it online thanks to the coverage and speed of the Next G™ network.

The Coggan’s will today attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by sowing 600 hectares of wheat in 24 hours at their property near Meandarra.

A team of four will work through the day and night to break the existing record of 571.9 hectares and in the process raise funds for the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation and promote organ donation.

RMCam, a collaboration between Telstra, the University of New England and Canon Australia, delivers remote video monitoring solutions over the Telstra Next G™ network. It was the perfect solution to help make this world record attempt in such a remote location available for the world to see.
